What Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide our pet health tracking services:

Account information — your name, email address, and password
Pet information — pet name, species, breed, age, weight, health logs, and medical records
Location data — GPS tracks recorded during TrakME activity sessions (only when you actively use tracking)
Photos — pet photos and body condition assessment (BCS) photos you upload
Usage data — app activity, log entries, and feature usage to improve the service

How We Use Your Data

To provide pet health tracking, weight monitoring, and growth analysis features
To generate TailTrak Insights — personalized health observations about your pet
To send notifications, reminders, and medication alerts you configure
To enable sharing pet records with veterinarians, groomers, and other caregivers you authorize

We will NEVER:

Sell your personal data or pet data to anyone
Use your data for advertising or ad targeting
Share your data with data brokers

Data Storage & Security

All data is stored securely on servers located in the United States
Pet health data is encrypted at rest and in transit
GPS tracks are stored only when you actively use TrakME — we do not track your location in the background
Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (argon2)
We maintain regular backups to prevent data loss

Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of third-party services to operate TailTrak:

Anthropic — powers TailTrak Insight analysis. Pet data is processed by Anthropic's API but is not stored or used for training per their commercial terms.
Resend — email delivery service for notifications and reminders. Receives only the email addresses necessary for delivery.
Stripe — payment processing for MVP subscriptions. We never see or store your credit card information.

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics trackers, or data brokers.

Your Rights

Access — view all your data at any time through your account dashboard
Delete — permanently delete your account and all associated data from Account Settings
Export — download your pet's complete health history
Correct — edit or update any information in your account at any time

Children's Privacy

TailTrak is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of TailTrak after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
